Academic Supports

At Daylesford College we understand that all students, in each subject, are at different stages in their learning. We personalise classroom learning so that all students, each year, can achieve success and grow. Through our range of formally conducted academic testing we are able to identify a number of students who may require extra support or extension, particularly in literacy and numeracy.

Daylesford College offers a range of extra programs in order to further support our students’ learning.

These include;

• Numeracy intervention program (GRIN) (small group and individual numeracy support to Year 7 students and enrichment in numeracy for students in Year 7 to 9)
• Literacy intervention program (small group and individual literacy support for Year 7 to 10 students)
• In class tutor support and extension (from qualified teachers) for students from Year 7 to 12.
• Participation in the Victorian High Ability Program (VHAP) for Year 7 and 8 students.
• Involvement in the Centre for Higher Education Studies (CHES) innovative enrichment program.
• Extra, in class academic support from aides for students with additional needs.
• After school study club where teachers from all subject areas are available to assist students.
