At Daylesford College we understand that all students, in each subject, are at different stages in their learning. We personalise classroom learning so that all students, each year, can achieve success and grow. Through our range of formally conducted academic testing we are able to identify a number of students who may require extra support or extension, particularly in literacy and numeracy.
Daylesford College offers a range of extra programs in order to further support student learning.
These include;
– Numeracy intervention program (GRIN) (small group and individual numeracy support to Year 7 students and enrichment in numeracy for students in Year 7 to 9)
– Literacy support classes at Year 7 & Year 8 and literacy intervention at Year 9 & Year 10 (individuals and small groups).
– Participation in the Victorian High Ability Program (VHAP) for Year 7 and 8 students.
– Participation in the Centre for Higher Education Studies (CHES) innovative enrichment program. High ability Year 12 students can begin a tertiary study if they qualify.
– Extra, in-class academic support from aides for students with additional needs.
– An after school Homework Club where teachers from all subject areas are available to assist students.
