Grade 6 Transition

Term 1

In term one, families are invited to Daylesford College for our annual Open Night. You can meet our leadership team, teachers, and support staff, as well as exploring the subjects and facilities firsthand. Open Night complements the personalized school tours and is the perfect opportunity to see why Daylesford College is the right school for you.

Term 2

In the second term, students from Grades 5 and 6 get to experience ‘a day in the life of a secondary student’ at Daylesford College. They are immersed in a day focused on Numeracy and Literacy, as well as experiencing the exciting recess and lunchtime activities.

Term 3

In term three, our future secondary school students get the opportunity to explore another amazing aspect of Daylesford College. The secondary school day is filled with STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Maths, Arts and Phys Ed activities.

Term 4

In term four we run two transition days. All our new students, coming to us from Grade 6, join us on the Statewide Primary to Secondary transition day. Students meet their new teachers, and participate in a day filled with their new subjects and with their new classmates.
To compliment the transition day, during the week prior we run a ‘Singletons’ afternoon. Students who are part of a small transition cohort come to the school for an afternoon to have the opportunity to make new friends.
